Enough about be, let’s get to the makeup! So, this or that?

1. Airbrush vs Traditional - For Weddings I really love airbrush [it mists onto the skin effortlessly!] and can achieve all the different coverage options. However if you have a textured, very oily (I mean very) or scarred skin, Traditional would be best - it is much more forgiving on texture and in the event of very oily skin, easily touched up with more product over the course of the day when needed.

2. Natural vs Glam - You must be true to your preference or you are going to feel uncomfortable and not yourself. If you are wanting to try a different style to your normal (go for it!) but book a Trial to be sure you love it. Both are beautiful options for Weddings BUT they are both very different. Booking a longer Trial appointment so you can try each look is a great idea if you are undecided. Or perhaps you’d like the best of both worlds and choose something in between?

3. Lashes vs No Lashes - In my opinion some kind of lash is best - it means less mascara and allows the lashes to look effortless without the weighing down of excess product. There are so many options - strip, 3/4, half or individuals, there will be an option for you! At your Trial I pay close attention to the whole look you are choosing - lashes too! - so I can create using your inspiration but in a way that best compliments your features.

4. Bold Lip vs Natural Lip - A bold lip is a time investment of your day. You will need to care for it to prevent bleeding (best in a long wear product so it doesn’t kiss off and stain your Groom!) a lighter or natural lip tends to be much easier to care for and great in gloss or balm consistencies. Your lip colour choice really adds to the vibe of your look so choosing can be challenging for some. If you are undecided try both at your Trial and take pictures of each - there is nothing quite like wearing something to help you decide!

5. Bold Liner or Smoky Liner - Both options are beautiful and it is as simple as wanting a defined eye or sultry/smoky eye. I find the most popular option at the moment is somewhere in between! The in-between compliments all eye shapes and can be kept thin for hooded eyes or thicker and more visibly smoky for round eyes (that have a larger visible lid). It is important to be guided by your eye shape to achieve the most complimentary look.

6. Trial vs No Trial - Trials are always best if you can, this is our chance to meet and get to know each other. To plan your prep time AND create your look, it’s also important for you to see your chosen look come to life. Sometimes distance can make this a bit impossible (eg. If you are having a destination Wedding!) if this is the case I like to chat with you over the phone so we can still review everything for your day in advance.

A few little secrets to have up your sleeve...

•Adding a subtle pop of a brighter or pinker blush to lift the cheek - now by subtle, I mean just a light press to the tops of the apples of the cheek.

•Glow but don’t sparkle - Your photographer will thank me, in artificial light that really popping highlight will flash back a little and can appear white. A softer sheen product will give you glow or that lit from within look.

•Big lash, little lash, no lash? - Choosing a lash can be hard but how it is applied is also critical. Trimming your lash to a 3/4 length and applying just in from the outer corner will stop the ‘droop’ effect and blend with your natural lash line. Thus opening and lifting your eye regardless of the size you choose! Individual lashes are also a great option to really customise your lash.

Wishing you a magical Wedding planning journey! [and if you wish to enquire or book, I’m only an email away!]
